About the Khaki Foundation 

The Khaki Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the public good through carefully considered educational and charitable initiatives.

Founded in December 2003 under the Washington Nonprofit Corporation Act (RCW 24.03), the Foundation operates as a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. Its work is guided by a commitment to education, compassion, and service, and is carried out exclusively in furtherance of educational, charitable, religious, scientific, and literary purposes.

Purpose and Guiding Principles 

At the heart of the Foundation’s work is a belief that access to education and basic sustenance is essential to human dignity.

The Khaki Foundation supports initiatives that respond to the essential needs of vulnerable individuals and families, while recognizing education as a powerful means to reduce poverty, restore agency, and ease human suffering. Its efforts are shaped by restraint, ethical responsibility, and respect for cultural and social diversity.

How the Foundation Works

Rather than operating programs directly or engaging in broad solicitation, the Foundation supports a limited number of initiatives selected through careful review and trusted relationships.

Given its limited scale, the Khaki Foundation often seeks to play a catalytic role - supporting early-stage, enabling, or transitional efforts that address immediate needs while creating conditions for longer-term engagement. In many cases, the intention is not permanence, but to help make it possible for larger or better-resourced institutions to build upon and extend the work. 

Projects are typically aligned with one or more of the following areas:

• Educational access and learning support

• Poverty alleviation and basic sustenance

• Humanitarian and community-based relief

• Capacity-building for local institutions

Emphasis is placed on thoughtful engagement, accountability, and long-term relevance rather than scale or visibility.

Scope of Work 

Since its founding, the Khaki Foundation has supported initiatives across different regions and contexts, reflecting both local and international concerns. While the nature of this work varies, it is unified by a consistent focus on human need, dignity, and responsible stewardship.

Governance and Responsibility 

The Foundation is governed in accordance with applicable nonprofit regulations and maintains a conservative administrative structure. Resources are managed with care, and administrative overhead is kept intentionally modest to ensure focus remains on the Foundation’s core purpose. 

Transparency by Design 

The Khaki Foundation does not actively solicit donations, proposals, or general inquiries. This is a deliberate choice intended to preserve focus and capacity, and to ensure that existing commitments are approached with the attention they require.

The information presented on this site is shared in the spirit of transparency and public understanding rather than outreach.

Continuing Forward 

The Foundation continues its work with a long-term perspective - responding to need where it can, while remaining anchored in its original purpose and guiding principles.
